Came and gave me a quote for new boiler and extra radiator. Liked them and agreed for work to go ahead with boiler they recommended and with quote that I was given. Then was told the boiler they recommended would take 90 days to come. With no heating or hot water I said I would go with another make of boiler that they also recommended. They then said they would send me a revised quote for this. 3-4 weeks later and two texts to them prompting them for the quote and asking them if they were still keen to do the job I am still waiting for a reply! Think they could have at least replied to my texts. Very disappointed and certainly no way to run a business.

We appreciated Jordan's fast response (especially given the market was very busy immediately following the Edinburgh trade break). Further, Jordan was able to provide a fast temporary solution to the problem and detail the options we had for a permanent solution. After my old Glowworm boiler finally failed I got three quotes for a replacement. Murrayfield Plumbing and Heating Ltd provided the cheapest but also most detailed and patient quote. Whereas British Gas and The Edinburgh Boiler Company were obviously operating on a 'quote as quickly as possible basis' Jordan spent time to fully explain the situation, the boilers available and the specific boiler that would suit my small flat.

In his manner and his quote he was professional throughout and his friendly and knowledgeable approach was exactly what I (as someone with no confidence with plumbing or boilers) needed. On the day of the installation Jordan continued to deliver high quality customer service, explaining every little detail that I enquired about and others besides.

Being in my flat for the entire day he was also able to chat about different things with little effort and this is exceedingly unusual with tradespeople. On the second day with the flushing of the system and final checks Jordan detected a gas leak where the pipe entered the building. He took ownership of the situation arranging SGN and again explaining fully what was occurring.

Even after SGN arrived Jordan was attentive despite the problem being located in the building's pre-existing piping. On the third day when the problem had been identified and was being worked on Jordan called to ask for updates and was very concerned about the set-back and the well-being of the residents. Every SGN operative who set foot in the kitchen commented on the excellent work that Jordan had already completed (in particular the high quality pipes -see image 2).

The true test of a tradesperson is their performance under pressure or usual circumstances. In my experience, someone without Jordan's patience and personality could have made the process even more confusing and difficult. Due to his positivity, professionalism, knowledgeability and friendliness it was a fairly painless albeit major disruption to my life. I cannot recommend Murrayfield Plumbing and Heating Ltd enough and wouldn't hesitate to call on them for any plumbing problem.

Jordan was really helpful. He came out same day that I called him. Then explained fully issues with current boiler and pros and cons of a repair over a new boiler installation. He was extremely helpful in sourcing a product that was suitable for my needs as someone who is unsure if moving house in next few years. When he carried out the work he's by far and away the tidiest workman I've ever had in the house and the same in respect of tidying up work completed outside. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him to others and will be continuing to use him again in the future for servicing and any other plumbing issues that occur.

Excellent service from Jordan at Murrayfield Plumbing and Heating. He explains everything thoroughly and doesn't just try and sell you the most expensive option. He obviously takes pride in his work, which is a surprisingly hard quality to find these days. Even on the rare occasion when he has been fully booked up and unable to come out, he has always gone out of his way to help as much as he can over the phone to tide us over. Communication is excellent. Just can't recommend him enough.

I recently used Murrayfield Plumbing & Heating for the replacement of a 2 Port Zone valve on my central heating system. The service I received was excellent and Jordan, the engineer, was polite, kept in contact regularly ahead of his visit, and took more time than he needed to explain how the part worked, show me examples using a voltage meter and in general was a pleasure to deal with. I will be moving home shortly / out of Edinburg, and will certainly be in touch with Jordan if I require any work to be carried out in my new house. *****

I read the reviews here and decided to give Jordan a call to discuss my boiler replacement. He came round to discuss my situation and I was impressed with both his knowledge of the technology but also of his ability to match a solution to my requirements. Others I'd spoken to seemed to want to point me towards the most expensive solution whereas Jordan recommended a cost-effective solution with flexibility for upgrade later, if necessary. His work was of a high standard and he took care to be clean and tidy. Worth the five stars.
